Cookies are the best, crisp and chewy these Vegan Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect cookie to keep for after school snacks or coffee breaks. If you like your cookies crisp throughout then bake for a couple of minutes longer – we like them chewy in the middle. Vegan Chocolate Chips are available in nearly every supermarket now (thank goodness) so it’s simple to pick up these wonderful milk free chips. We’ve added Orange Blossom and Orange Zest to these cookies – it’s a classic combination that works perfectly.

Vegan Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 3 cups plain flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 cup dairy free margarine
- 1/4 cup vegetable fat - I use Trex
- 1/4 cup caster sugar
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tsp Orange Blossom Extract
- Zest of one Orange
- 1/4 cup non-dairy milk - I use Koko
- 3/4 vegan chocolate chips - I use Sainsbury's dark chocolate
Directions
- Step 1
- Preheat the oven to 180°C, 350°F and grease your cookie sheet
- Step 2
- In a large bowl mix the flour, orange zest, baking powder, baking soda. Mix in the chocolate chips and put to one side
- Step 3
- Cream the sugars, vanilla, orange blossom and fats until light and a bit fluffy
- Step 4
- Mix the flour, creamed sugars, milk together until all incorporated into a delicious cookie dough
- Step 5
- Use a teaspoon to spoon to form balls, flatten slightly and put onto the prepared cookie sheet. These cookies spread quite a bit so don’t put them close
- Step 6
- Bake for 8-10 minutes and cool on a wire rack.
