Vegan Crumble is one of those traditional puddings that come to mind every autumn. Its a great dessert, add in custard, ice cream, caramel sauce or whipped cream and it’s perfect. We’ve added pears to our apple crumble, along with some Cardamom which we think is a lovely flavour combination. In the crumble part of the dessert we’ve added in Walnuts, but if you are allergic to nuts just omit these – the crumble is delicious without nuts. Naturally we use dairy free butter in the topping, so that makes this Vegan Apple, Pear and Cardamom Crumble safe for Vegan’s and those with a dairy allergy. For the whipped cream we just grabbed a tub of Oatley Whipping Cream and it was ready in a few minutes. Simple and delicious.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sliced pears
- 2 1/2 cups sliced apples
- 1 1/2 tsp Ground Cardamom (I ground up the seeds from pods as I couldn't find any ground Cardamom)
- 1 1/2 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp Corn Flour
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- Topping
- 3/4 cup Oats
- 1/2 cup Plain Flour
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/3 cup dairy free margarine
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped Walnuts (omit if you like)
Directions
- Step 1
- Preheat your oven to 180°C 360°F
- Step 2
- Peel, core and slice the fruit
- Step 3
- In a large bowl mix the fruit with the Cardamom, Corn Flour, 1 tsp Cinnamon 1 1/2 tbsp of Brown Sugar
- Step 4
- Pop into a greased oven dish while you make the topping
- Step 5
- Mix the Oats, Flour, 1 tsp Cinnamon, Walnuts together. Mix the margarine and 1/2 cup Brown Sugar together and then add to the flour/oat mixture to make a lumpy crumble topping. I use my hands…yes it’s messy but I can’t get the ingredients incorporated otherwise
- Step 6
- Sprinkle the topping on the fruit and bake for 30 minutes.
