Moo Free Chocolates - New Moo! Allergy Mums
Moo Free Chocolates

One of the hardest things about being dairy free is not being able to enjoy ‘treats’ like everyone else. It’s one of those issues that often gets sidelined when discussing allergies – staying reaction free can feel like a full time job.   It’s particularly hard on children and young adults, with holidays sometimes  feeling more like a time of deprivation rather than celebration. This is why Moo Free is such a special brand, and as part of celebrating their 10 year anniversary the packaging has been redesigned and the product range extended.  The fun characters are a core part of the the brands identity, and the new packaging honours that feel, while updating so that the packaging is appealing to teenagers and adults as well.

Moo Free has, over the years, always responded to customer needs – Advent Calendars, Easter Eggs and recently a White Chocolate Calendar have all been launched. Now the range has been expanded to include a great range of flavours including, White Chocolate, Strawberry, Caramel and my favourite – Mint. The bars are the perfect size, and a wonderful mixture of sweetness with a creamy milk taste that is missing from darker chocolate. We were delighted to receive samples to try as we’ve always been fans of the brand.

Moo Free Ethics

Moo Free chocolate is organic,  vegan, gluten and soya free so it’s safe for a wide variety of allergy sufferers. Rice is thankfully, a pretty rare allergy. Moo Free is made with Rice Milk in their own free from factories so there is no risk on cross contamination.  A lot of vegan chocolate is very dark, which can be nice, but it isn’t the same as having milk chocolate.  This is where Moo Free is a great fit – a milk chocolate bar that comes in lots of varieties.

The company also has a strong ethical policy – zero waste is sent to landfill, and they support charities that help adults who have difficulty in finding work, resulting in about 20% of their work force being autistic.  This makes it a great brand to support – ethical and delicious.  Certainly in our house the zero waste to landfill is something we care about.  Moo Free is a family run, started to fill a gap in the market 10 years ago. As they live with intolerances and allergies as a family, they understand how important free from foods are.

Moo Free Range and Free From

But most importantly – Moo Free Chocolate tastes great. Its particularly wonderful that Moo Free aren’t just Vegan, but also Soya and Gluten Free. It means that Moo Free is a fabulous brand for those with multiple allergies as well as dietary preferences. There is a wide range of flavours – we fight over the mint and the caramel chocolate bars in our house!  It’s so nice to have individually wrapped bars that can be popped into bags, or given out after school.  Each year we devour the Advent Calendar – and this year we’re excited to have the white chocolate version available.
