Wagamama's ***** For Dairy Free and Attitude

For those with dairy allergies Asian inspired food is always going to be top of the list for a night out.  It gets too depressing wading through menu's with cream sauces everywhere and butter dripping off every conceivable vegetable.

I took my daughter there for a 'Mummy and Molly' dinner out when my husband was away for business recently (it comes under the heading of please cheer up...please...he'll be home soon...here...have some food)

I love Pad Thai but have to ask for it without egg. The waitress immediately asked if it was a preference or an allergy and then noted on her electronic pad that it was an egg allergy. I have to say I was impressed that their systems are set up to report allergies to the kitchen. Equally, checking on egg/milk for my daughters meal was a cinch. They couldn't have been more accommodating and they were more than happy to adjust the meals to suit our needs.

Afterwards I logged onto their website and wow! They have all the ingredients listed by dish, and even the option for interrogating their menu for safe dishes to eat. You just  flag which allergies you suffer from (celery, cereals, crustraceans, eggs, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, soya and sulphur dioxide) and a list of 'safe' dishes is displayed. I found that the list was then quite small; but since they are happy to modify the menu don't let that put you off.

Really doesn't get better than this!
