Mercifully Molly can eat nuts - and these bars are lucious with caramel that melts in the mouth. I made them in Canada when we were up at a lake so not really close to any health food shops.  The recipe calls for brown rice syrup, which we didn't have, instead I used a combination of golden syrup and maple syrup. They turned out just fine. So use whatever type of liquid sugary ingredient you want if you can't find rice syrup. Another fab recipe from 'Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar'.
